MBA Urban Planning and Global Job Opportunities
Job Market
This field currently has a large job market globally, and due to its fledgling nature and the fact that it has different and diverse job fields, its job market is not yet saturated..
For example, Canada gives the highest priority to individuals with a degree in urban planning for immigration or further education. It is important to note that until 5 years ago, this field existed only at the master's and doctoral levels, and recently there has been some activity at the undergraduate level, so we are not faced with a saturated labor market.
Since these graduates, in addition to the abilities of an urban engineer, have more scientific, theoretical, and research knowledge in a specific field, they are also more efficient and can use the material they have learned in more precise and specialized fields of design and calculations, as well as research.
Such graduates, in addition to being able to work in all places that recruit undergraduate graduates, assume higher and heavier scientific, research, and administrative responsibilities. After completing their specialized doctorate, they have the opportunity to collaborate in universities and other scientific and research centers as faculty members.
The fields of work in the field of urban planning in Iran are very different and diverse, in the government sector, in the National Management and Planning Organization, municipalities, the Ministry of Interior, governorates and other bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, etc., and in the private sector, in consulting engineering companies for urban planning, architecture, regional planning, etc..

University teaching which today, due to the increase in the number of universities and students accepted into this field, we are facing a severe shortage of professors.
Using the expertise of other fields and, as a result, increasing efficiency and effectiveness such as the joint use of the field of civil engineering and urban planning, which can provide a basis for work in topics such as studying upstream projects, landscaping, design issues, etc., in addition to structural and civil engineering issues.
Job opportunities in Iran
Our country needs 50,000 urban and regional planners for urban and regional development; that is, if we want to get closer to the global development caravan, we must believe in the planning debate and invest in this field so that we can compensate for our backwardness by using planning resources, like Korea.
But unfortunately, at present, the abilities of specialists in this field are not recognized in the general culture of society, and officials do not distinguish between architecture and urban planning.
While architects' knowledge is limited to the building and they do not intervene on a large scale; that is, they do not study a city or a region with all its social, human, economic, cultural, and physical characteristics and features, and for this reason they cannot be successful in urban planning or design.
