“Motorcycle Repairer” Skill Test in Iran (and its position internationally)
Objectives of the Motorcycle Repairer Test
1. Assessing the technical expertise of individuals in troubleshooting and repairing various types of motorcycles
2. Issuing an official and valid skill certificate by the country's technical and professional organization
3. Increasing the standard of motorcycle repair services
4. Facilitating obtaining an official license to establish a repair shop
5. Strengthening job opportunities inside and outside the country
Validity of the certificate
• Issued by: Technical and Vocational Education Organization of Iran (TVTO)
• Can be officially translated with the approval of the Ministry of Justice and Foreign Affairs
• Has national validity (for presentation to unions, traffic police, guilds)
• Can be presented internationally for job migration with equivalence
Skills tested in the exam:
Main technical topics:
• Identifying and examining engine parts (piston, cylinder, valve, crankshaft, etc.)
• Repairing and servicing the fuel system (carburetor/injector)
• Troubleshooting and repairing the electrical system (battery, coil, CDI, wiring)
• Power transmission system (clutch, gearbox, chain, axle)
• Engine tuning and performance testing
• Periodic service (oil change, valve adjustment, etc.)
Other skills:
• Reading diagrams and understanding simple electrical circuits
• Observing safety principles in the repair shop
• Diagnosing and fixing abnormal engine noise
• Working with specialized motorcycle repair tools
Test Structure
1. Theoretical Test:
• Approximately 30 test questions
• Topics: Engine technical systems, electricity, fuel, instrumentation, safety, working with maps
2. Practical Test:
• Performing several practical tasks on a real or semi-real motorcycle (dummy)
• Assembling and disassembling the engine
• Adjusting the ignition system
• Electrical testing and wiring repair
• Checking the carburetor and fuel supply
Requirements for taking the test
• Educational qualification: Not required (at least literacy is sufficient)
• Recommended age: 18 years and above
• Work experience or training: Not required, but it is better to have previously taken a training course or have work experience
