Building Painter Skill Test (under the supervision of the Iranian Technical and Vocational Education Organization)

Objectives of the Building Painter Exam

1. Measuring technical and practical skills in building painting and decorating

2. Issuing official skill certification by the country's technical and vocational organization

3. Increasing the quality level of construction workers and painting masters

4. Facilitating the receipt of an activity permit or business license for related jobs

5. Creating the possibility of employment, career advancement, or work migration

Certificate and Diploma Validity

• Issued by: Technical and Vocational Education Organization (TVTO)

• Officially translated with the approval of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

• Domestic Validity: For presentation to trade unions, construction contractors, companies

• Foreign Validity: In the Persian Gulf countries and some industrialized countries (with equivalence)

Skills covered in the exam

• Surface preparation (puttying, sanding, priming)

• Painting with plastic, oil, acrylic paints

• New painting techniques (multicolor, patina, Rolex, etc.)

• Painting interior and exterior surfaces of buildings

• Safety in building painting (working with scaffolding, chemicals, ventilation)

• Identifying tools (roller, brush, gun, electric sander)

• Calculating the area and estimating the amount of paint required

Test Structure

1. Theoretical Test

• Approximately 30 test questions

• Topics: principles of color, safety, instrumentation, surface calculations, preparation methods

2. Practical Test

• Actual painting of a wall (priming, application of final paint)

• Working with several types of paint (oil, plastic, multi-color)

• Implementation of a specific technique such as two-tone or patterned (in advanced tests)

Requirements for taking the exam

• Educational qualification: Not required (suitable for all people with basic literacy)

• Age: Preferably over 18 years old

• Experience or training required: Completed a course at a school or work experience
